Originally manufactured in 1944, and later upgraded to the (T) pattern, which would remain the Commonwealth-standard sniper rifle from World War II into the 1960s. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights (battle sight removed from the latter, which is Canadian "C" marked), with faint Number 4 Mark 1 markings on the left side of the receiver between the scope bases, near a deeply struck "T", "M47C", 1944" and "TR" on the left side of the socket, and tonnage marks on the barrel near the muzzle. The #32 Mk3 scope is marked "O.S. 2039A. CT&S No19054" and installed in a mixed-numbered mount. The straight wrist stock is numbered to match on the underside of the forearm, with "S.L." on the forearm and buttstock, "S 51" behind the wrist, a raised cheekpiece and an alloy buttplate.

Very fine as arsenal refurbished, with 90% plus arsenal black finish, showing some areas of brown patina, mild handling marks and traces of storage grease. The very fine stock shows mild dents and scuffs. The optics are very good, with some frosting of the lenses around the edges and mild wear and spotting on the exterior. Mechanically excellent.
