Description:

Constructed from feldgrau cloth with a darker green band, gold wire piping, and a set of flat machine woven eagle and cockade/wreath patches on the front. The patent leather visor is black on top and bottom, with a cream-colored sweatband and a light yellow rayon inner lining. No maker's marks are visible.

Rating Definition:

Good overall, with mild staining overall. The cap shows evidence of rough storage, with some folds and scuffs, and a small hole is present on the top of the crown. The inner lining shows two sets of sweat diamond stitching; the sweat staining inside suggests that the larger set of stitching was for a diamond replaced relatively early in the cap's service life, while the smaller diamond was in place significantly longer, protecting that region of the interior likely through the whole period of use.
