Description:

Very similar in overall construction to the standard 1940 stahlhelm, this example is chiefly distinguished by the use of aluminum as the chief construction material and by the integration of a set of larger screen-equipped vents in place of the smaller grommet holes. Overall finish is a dark enamel paint close to the traditional Luftwaffe colors, with the black/white/red national shield on the right and the Luftwaffe eagle on the left. The interior is stamped "ET66" on the left and "172" on the rear, with the brown leather webbing ink stamped "58" on the exterior and "6-43" on the interior, above a faded "R.B." number and a second "58" size marking.

Rating Definition:

Good overall, with some fading and scuffing of the finish. The chinstrap is dried out and cracked, while the webbing is supple and lightly worn.
