Description:

1) Aerial identification drape, approximately 37 inches by 76 inches (88cm x 175cm). Per orders issued in 1940, it was to be secured to the top of a vehicle, occupied building or water-going vessel when at the front lines to reduce the risk of friendly fire from Luftwaffe aircraft; originally very important when Germany was on the offensive, the contested or absent Luftwaffe air supremacy in the later years rendered the drapes obsolete. The main field is red cloth with a set of brass grommets in the corners, with a one sided white cloth circle with a printed black "balken cross". 2) NSBO(National Socialist Factory Cell Organization) worker's flag, measuring approximately 46 inches by 40 inches (116cm x 101cm). Multi-piece construction, with a red cloth field, stitched-on white circle, and stitched on black cloth swastikas. In one corner on each side is a brown felt patch embroidered "Betriebszelle/Erzbergwerke/Rammelsberg", indicating the "factory cell" responsible for ore mining on the Rammelsberg, a 635 meter tall mountain in Lower Saxony. Active for over 1000 years and currently a World Heritage Site, the Rammelsberg mines were considered an essential war asset by the Nazis. The NSBO was originally a union of Party members, and enjoyed a brief moment of glory as Nazi Germany's sole trade union before being eaten by the German Labor Front in 1935.

Rating Definition:

1) Very good, with minimal handling marks. 2) Good, with mild staining and a small amount of moth damage. The trim on the felt patches is a bit loose.
