Description:

All are polychrome decorated stoneware with hinged lids. 1) War Christmas 1940 stein for the 4th Company of Mountain Transport Battalion 56, edelweiss decorated with a shell design on the lid spur. No makers marks. 2) Christmas 1915 stein for the 1st Motor Replacement Company in Munich, with an illegible Munich makers mark on the underside and a 1914 pattern Iron Cross on the lid. 3) Commemorative stein for Flyer Replacement Battalion 25 at Kaufbeuren, with "Uffz. Romotzki" next to the aviation scene and a stahlhelm design on the lid. Romotzki has not been identified. Battalion 25 was active about 1938-1939 before being renamed. 4) Christmas 1938 stein for the 7th Bavarian Company of the Wachregiment-Berlin (later known as the Infantry Regiment Grossdeutschland), with a faint monogram on top of the lid and "H.N./Sch." on the underside. 5) Undated stein for the junior officer corps of the 15th Artillery Company of Infantry Regiment 82 of Goettingen, Lower Saxony, inscribed "Uffz. Herrmann" on the lid and decorated with a fine scene of gas masked troopers operating a battle scarred field gun. Herrmann has not been identified.

Rating Definition:

#2 shows some cracking of the lid, otherwise the grouping is very good overall.
