Measuring approximately 50 inches by 46 inches (127cm x 117cm), the flag is trimmed on 3 sides with gold bullion tassle and fitted with a set of aluminum suspension rings and hooks on the hoist. The main field is constructed from red cloth with a cloth swastika and circle stitched into the middle of each side (properly double sided), and the upper corner near the hoist has a rectangular brown patch with white embroidered text "Ortsgruppe/Holz/Kreis-Sarrbrucken-Land". One of the building blocks of the Party structure, the Ortzgruppe (local group) was responsible for an entire town or a small section of a city. Holz (modern population 3,887 as of 2015) is a district in the Heusweiler, part of the Saarbrucken area of the Saar.
