Description:

Manufactured circa 1915-1917, these Lugers were produced in England for military export to the Netherlands. While neutral in the First World War, many of these pistols saw hard use at sea with the Royal Netherlands Navy, which continued to fight on in World War II even after the loss of their home ports to the Germans and their East Indies bases to the Japanese. Fixed sights, with the "VICKERS/LTD" marking on the toggle link, "RUST" safety mark on the frame, and "GELADEN" on the extractor. A brass plate marked "11/1030" has been added to the trigger guard; while inventory/unit plaques aren't uncommon on Dutch Vickers, they are more typically seen on the side of the frame. London "GP", "V" and "NP" proofs are present on many components, with the "crown/W" acceptance stamp on the extension and "1924" on top of the barrel. Fitted with a pair of checkered grips and a nickel finished wood base magazine.

Rating Definition:

Good as arsenal refurbished, with 30% of the dull arsenal blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, scattered scratches, dents and pitting, edge wear and mild spotting. The trigger guard plaque shows a fine mustard patina, and the grips are good with some dings and dents. Mechanically excellent.
