This is an example of a Mauser Banner Luger pistol that was manufactured in 1939 as part of a small run for non-German sales intended for export to neutral countries. The markings on this Luger, particularly the "RUST/(Arrow)" marking above the safety switch, suggest a destination of the Netherlands shortly before the Nazi invasion and occupation of the nation. Fixed sights, with "1939" on the chamber, the Mauser banner on the front toggle link, "crown/crown/U" proofs on the extension and breechblock, and a "GELADEN" marked extractor. Small parts are straw finished, with niter blue pins and springs, checkered grips, and a blue finished magazine marked "v/+" on the alloy base.

Very fine, with 80% of the slightly faded blue finish, showing small patches of pitting on the muzzle and grip straps, bright edge wear, scattered spotting and mild handling marks. 50% of the original straw color is present. The grips are very good, with some chipping and flat spots. Mechanically excellent.
