Description:

Manufactured from 1915 to 1940 with this example shipped in 1923. It has standard S&W markings, an importer marking on the butt, U.S. "eagle head/S2" proof on the yoke (frame probably originally intended for the U.S. Model 1917), provisions for a lanyard loop on the butt, matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder and barrel and "7435" on the right grip panel.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally refinished. The revolver retains 99% plus of the nickel plating showing a faint cylinder drag line and a couple gouges on the barrel. Nearly all of the case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are fine with some minor-moderate handling marks (mostly on the bottoms) and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: Frank Staig.
