Manufactured in 1941 this early production Model 71 exhibits many of the pre-war features. Ramp front sight, filler block in the rear sight dovetail slot, peep sight mounted to bolt, standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proofs and deluxe pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and checkered steel buttplate.

Excellent. The rifle retains 95% plus bright original blue finish showing some speckling of patina and some smooth gray patina on the buttplate. The wood is very fine with a couple small surface chips missing near the buttplate tang, a few minor handling marks and a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Most of the finish remains. Mechanically excellent.
