Manufactured circa 1906. The top barrel flat is marked "MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A./PATENTED. OCT. 11. 1887, APRIL 2. 1889, AUG. 1, 1893." ahead of the rear sight and "32-H.P.S." at the breech. Each of the upper barrels flat at the breech are decorated with a simple dot, line and scroll pattern. The receiver is engraved with floral scroll and punch dot patterns, as well as a buck in a forest scene in an oval panel on the left side and a bear killing its prey on the right side. The top of the receiver is marked "MARLIN SAFETY" and decorated with simple line, dot and scallop bordering. The upper tang is marked "MODEL/1893". The forward sides of the lever are engraved with a simple scroll design. Light floral scroll patterns adorn the forend cap and buttplate. Dovetailed German silver blade front sight, the rear buckhorn sight has been replaced with a two folding leaf variation and a modern short range peep sight has been installed on the upper tang. Blue barrel and magazine tube and casehardened remaining parts. Full length magazine tube and mounted with a multi-point checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Very fine. The barrel retains 70% original blue finish with some thinning to smooth gray patina at the breech end and some high point wear. The magazine tube has a smooth dark patina. The receiver and buttplate have traces of case colors with the balance a smooth gray patina, and the hammer and lever are a mix of original case colors and a smooth gray patina. The wood is also very fine. The stock has been lightly sanded and revarnished. Overall, there are some scattered minor dents and scratches, mainly on the forearm. The checkering remains crisp. The markings and engraving are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
