Manufactured in 1892.The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/patent dates ahead of the rear sight and "44 W." at the breech. The top of the receiver is marked "MARLIN SAFETY" and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. German silver front blade sight and an adjustable rear buckhorn sight. Blue finish with casehardened hammer, lever and buttplate. Half length magazine tube and mounted with a checkered walnut forearm with steel endcap and pistol grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 70% original blue finish with show thinning and light spotting on the magazine tube, high point wear on the barrel and areas of smooth gray and brown patina on the receiver, as well as some minor scratches. 60% original faded case colors remain on the hammer, strong traces in protected areas of the lever and the balance on the casehardened parts have a smooth mottled gray patina. The wood is fine with much of the original varnish remaining, and showing some overall scattered minor dents, dings and scratches. The checkering shows some wear, however remains crisp for the most part. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
