Description:

Manufactured in 1863. It has a German silver blade front sight, "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-" on top of the barrel, standard patent and naval engagement scene on the cylinder, "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame, cuts for a shoulder stock on the recoil shield and heel, "WHR" cartouche on the left side of the grip, "JT" cartouche on the right, inspection marks throughout, and matching partial or full serial numbers throughout other than the grip (no visible number).

Rating Definition:

Very good with 30% original case colors, 25% of original blue on the top of the back strap and butt, patches of dark corrosion visible on the barrel, aged patina on the brass, and gray and brown patina on the balance mixed with some light oxidation/pitting and minor marks. The toe screw and grip are replaced. The wood has repaired cracks at the top at the junction with the frame, rounded corners at the bottom, some dents and light scratches, and legible cartouches. Mechanically excellent.
