Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with the U.S. marking, model and serial number on the left side of the receiver and a "B" marked rear sight. Smooth straight wrist stock, with a "JSA/1903" cartouche on the left side, script "P" on the underside of the wrist, and a smooth buttplate. A three-piece steel cleaning rod and a small nickel oiler are stored in the buttstock.

Very fine, with 80% plus original blue finish, showing some light spotting and handling marks overall. The casehardened components show a fine, deep color, and the extractor claw shows over 70% of the original fiery niter blue color. The stock is also very fine, with some dents and scratches overall. Mechanically excellent.

Replacement 1898 pattern front blade and adjustable rear ladder sights graduated to 2,000 meters, standard markings on the receiver, and correct Model 1896 front and mid barrel bands. 1896 stock and handguard set without the relief cut in the handguard for the rear sight windage drum, wide bolt handle cut out, single circled script "P" behind the trigger guard, and a boxed "JLA/1897" inspection cartouche on the left side of the wrist. The trapdoor buttplate is smooth and contains a cleaning rod and oiler.

Fine. 60% original blue finish remains with some muzzle wear, handling marks overall, brown/gray patina on the extractor with traces of original nitre blue, and numerous small surface scratches and dings. The magazine box is arsenal refinished. The stock is very good with small dings throughout, and legible markings and faint cartouche. Mechanically excellent.
