Description:

The accompanying factory letter lists this high-condition revolver as having a 3 1/4 inch barrel, nickel finish and checkered black hard rubber grips when it was shipped on July 24, 1899, and delivered to Schoverling Daly & Gale Co., New York City. Matching serial numbers are on the butt, right grip panel, barrel and cylinder. Matching assembly numbers are on the yoke and crane. This was S&W's first swing-out cylinder revolver, the predecessor to every S&W revolver manufactured since that time.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original nickel-plating showing limited small minor flaking. The grips are also excellent with a few minor handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: Terry Popkin collection.
