This revolver was manufactured in 1877, the first year of production, and has approximately 60% period retailer applied coverage engraving with scroll and geometric patterns on punch dot backgrounds. The 3 1/2 inch barrel marked with the two-line address on top and the etched caliber markings on the left side. The left side of the frame has the three-line/three-patent dates. The upper left rear of the trigger guard is marked "38 CAL". It has a nickel-plated finish with niter blue small parts and smooth mother of pearl grips. It has the small half moon blade front and frame groove rear sights. The loading gate is marked with the assembly number "129". The matching serial number is found on the frame, cylinder, trigger guard, and rear strap while the barrel is marked "1067". Provenance: Gillespie collection.

Very fine as period embellished. The revolver retains 98% of the nickel plating and 90% of the niter blue finish with some scattered light scratches. The grips are very good with few slight chips on the edges. Mechanically needs some minor work as the trigger currently does not reset. The markings and engraving are mostly clear.
