Manufactured in 1898. It also is fitted with a special order pistol grip stock with a shotgun butt and checkering on the pistol grip and forearm. It was returned to the Winchester factory where it was rebarreled with this late production pattern barrel that has only a single circled "WP" proof which is on the top rear flat in front of the receiver. It lacks a proof on top of the receiver ring. The upper left barrel flat is stamped with the two-line address/patent marking, two-line nickel steel marking and ".30 W.C.F." Fitted with a standard Winchester blade front sight and sporting style rear sight. The upper tang is roll-stamped "MODEL 1894/-WINCHESTER -/PAT AUG 21 1894" and is factory drilled and tapped for a tang sight. The stock and forearm have a hand-rubbed varnish finish overall with the side of the pistol grip and forearm having a fine line checkering. It is fitted with a hard rubber Winchester Repeating Arms marked grip cap and buttplate. The serial number "135377" is roll-stamped across the bottom of the receiver.

Very fine with 80% original blue finish overall showing wear on the edges and high spots with blue loss on the front edges and underside of the receiver from actual handling and use. The stock and forend are very fine with 85% original varnish. The checkering is fine overall with nice distinct checkering showing only minor handling marks with the tops of the checkering slightly flat. The hard rubber grip cap and buttplate are excellent. A very nice looking antique Winchester Deluxe Model 1894 lever action rifle.
