Description:

This brown leather money belt rig was manufactured by S.D. Myres in El Paso, Texas. Samuel Dale Myres' (1871-1952) saddlery business first operated out of Sweetwater, Texas, in 1898-1919 and then El Paso in 1920-1969. Uncle Sam reportedly knew Pancho Villa, Colonel Joe C. Miller, Pawnee Bill, Theodore Roosevelt, and General George C. Patton and counted them among his customers. His goods were also used by Gene Autry, John Wayne, Tom Mix and Wallace Berry Jr . The belt strap his a single piece of folded and stitched leather and has an opening at the buckle that allows concealment of money or documents. There are cartridge loops along most of the length. "S.D. MYRES / EL PASO, TEX." is marked to the left of the buckle. The jock strap style holster has tooled floral patterns and an "S.D MYRES/EL PASO" on the top of the strap at the center.
