Manufactured in 1903, this is a deluxe version of the Model 1890 slide action rifle with a blued frame and chambered for the 22 long cartridge. The top barrel flat is stamped with the two-line address/patent date marking followed by "22 LONG", with the serial number on the lower tang. The rifle has a blade front sight with bead and a tang peep sight. The rear sight has been removed, and the bolt is drilled and tapped for a sight mount. Takedown receiver with a 3/4 length tube magazine. Grooved forearm and a fancy grain walnut pistol grip 3X stock (marked "90/17446" under butt plate) with checkered grip area, factory hard rubber grip cap and casehardened crescent buttplate (marked "17446" to match stock and receiver tang). The tang is marked "17446 XXX" on the lower left internal side.

Excellent. The rifle retains 90% plus of the bright original blue finish with some overall thinning and high edge wear, along with extensive slide wear. The buttplate retains 75% of the vivid original case colors with the balance fading to a smooth gray patina with limited minor spotting. The forearm is excellent with a few light handling marks. The stock is also excellent with some minor dings and scratches. The checkering is crisp with the stock and forearm retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent.
