Manufactured from 1866 to the 1880s, the Bulldog uses a side-rotating breechblock that interlocks with the hammer at the time of discharge. Blade front and notch rear sights, with "CONNECTICUT ARMS & MANF'G Co NAUBUC CONN." on the barrel and "PATENTED OCT. 25. 1864" on the breechblock. The barrel is blued with a casehardened breechblock and frame, niter blue screws and brown hard rubber grips. Matching numbers are present on the grip frame and left grip panel. Included with the pistol is a black cardboard box with white floral dot patterns on the exterior, with the interior fitted with a six round wood cartridge block.

Very fine overall. The barrel shows 95% plus original blue finish, with some bright edge wear, light scratches and minor handling marks overall, and the frame and breechblock show 70% original case colors, with a smooth gray and brown patina on the remaining area. The grips are excellent, with a few light handling marks. The box is fair, with some split/torn edges and scuffing overall. Mechanically excellent.
