Manufactured from 1878-1910, the New Model No. 3 Target was the first Smith & Wesson to come with adjustable sights as a factory standard option, as well as the introductory revolver for the 32-44 and 38-44 Target cartridges. This short cylinder variant example falls near the beginning of the Target production range. It has the standard target sights, two-line address/patent date marking on the rib and matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder, barrel latch, barrel and right grip panel.

Very fine. The revolver retains 85% original nickel finish mixed with flaking. 20% original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger guard. The grips are excellent with a few minor handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
