Description:

Manufactured in 1884. Standard barrel and left side frame marking and "45 CAL." on the left front of the trigger guard bow. Matching serial number and "5062" assembly number on the loading gate. Black powder frame, standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, all nickel finish with niter blue screws and fitted with checkered Rampant Colt/American Eagle hard rubber grips. Comes with an unmarked double loop floral-tooled holster. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, nickel finish, rubber grips, and that it was shipped as 1 of 50 to Simmons Hardware Company in St. Louis, Mo. on February 12, 1884. The remarks state that, "The records also contain another listing for this serial number which indicates it was included in a shipment of 10 to Hartley and Graham in New York on June 12, 1886." There is also a typed letter dated October 1,1991 from an individual stating that this revolver was purchased from an estate in Boise, Idaho and that at the time the gun was reportedly in a safe deposit box from 1902 to 1990.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 70% original nickel plating remaining, showing a smooth silver gray patina on half of the barrel and cylinder, as well as on the left front of the frame. There is some minor flaking and blistering on the grip straps. Much of the original bright niter blue remains on the screw heads. The grips are also very fine with a some wear on the lower left edge and crisp checkering. The holster is fine with some flex wear and tearing on the ends of the loops and tight stitching.
