Description:

Introduced in 1878. This mid-range variation example has been rechambered and rebored from 40 2 1/2 (as marked on the barrel) to .45 caliber. It has a Lyman blade front sight, ladder rear sight graduated to 800 yards and a short range Vernier peep sight. The barrel is marked "Old Reliable" (no border) and the Bridgeport address. The action has a plain trigger and scarce factory hard rubber panels on both sides of the receiver. The checkered pistol grip stock has a hard rubber grip cap and checkered hard rubber shotgun buttplate. The barrel and forearm are numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Very good as rechambered (see above). The barrel retains some streaks of original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The frame retains traces of silvered out original case colors. The stock is very good with a few hairline cracks (mostly in the grip), a small repaired chip on the forearm, some minor pressure dents and scratches and crisp checkering overall. The grip cap has some missing material. The lever is loose (hangs down when not latched), otherwise the action functions properly.
