The barrel is composed of a middle round section and two octagon sections. The round and rear octagon sections feature engraved floral scrollwork at the front and rear while the octagon section at the muzzle features engraved floral scrollwork at the rear and a geometric band at the front. The round section is marked "B. SCHEUFLER/BERLIN." The pistol is fitted with an inverted "V" front sight and a screw adjustable notch rear sight. The hammer, brass frame and spur trigger guard are plated in gold and feature a near full coverage semi-relief engraved floral motif on a punch dot background. The butt has a large engraved monogram amongst the engraved pattern. The spur on the trigger guard has a dot and cross hatching engraving, and the hammer spur is checkered. The barrel release and screw heads are also engraved. The action is equipped with a set trigger and a firing pin mounted in the frame. The face of the trigger is smooth. The barrel release is on the left side of the frame, which allows the barrel to tip up for loading/unloading. Fitted with two-piece checkered grips. The grip screws have engraved gold-plated diamond escutcheons.

Extremely fine. The barrel has 40% original blue with the balance a smooth dark gray patina with some scattered light spotting mixed with minor pitting. The remaining surfaces retain 85% original gold plating. The grips are fine with overall crisp checkering. The front strap is cracked. The action needs work as hammer does not properly hold at full cock. A very attractive high art German pistol!
