Description:

It has a blade front sight on the front band, a tall notch and peep rear sight with folding ladder, "crown/FW" (Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm) cipher over an unclear marking at the center of the lock, various inspection marks, "124675" and "17651/1836" on the buttplate, and sling swivels on the middle barrel band and front of the trigger guard. Hundreds of thousands of European military arms, including converted and rifled former smoothbore muskets, were imported during the Civil War by both the Confederacy and the Union.

Rating Definition:

Very good with dark brown patina, mild pitting, light oxidation, and minor marks on the steel; aged patina on the brass, some dings, scratches, and small chips in the revarnished stock; and some faded markings. Mechanically excellent.
