"RICHARDS" is marked on the lock which has a half-cock safety and a frizzen spring roller, and the barrel has "crown/GP" and "crown/V" London proof and view marks on the upper left. There is light traditional engraving. The barrel is fitted with a snap bayonet and has a 1 1/4 inch muzzle and approximately 16 gauge bore. The trigger guard has a pineapple style finial. It has a horn tipped wooden ramrod.

Fine with aged patina on the brass, verdigris at the vent, mottle gray patina and pitting on the iron bayonet, dark brown patina on the lock, and general minor marks and scratches. Some of the engraving is partially faded. The stock is cracked around the lock and side nails and has a small split in the forend, crisp checkering, and some minor scrapes and dings. Mechanically fine.
