The revolver lacks maker markings, but is likely French in origin. The 6-shot cylinder and frame are brass and feature a floral pattern engraving consisting of scrolls and blossoms. The number "3" is stamped on a cylinder flute, loading gate and on front of the frame. Writer will yield to potential buyer whether the aforementioned number 3 is a serial number or assembly number. The hammer and folding trigger are iron. The German silver grips feature a matching engraving. The screw on triangular bayonet is 2 7/8 inches long and is constructed out of brass (rear half) and iron (front half). Provenance: Gillespie collection.

Very fine. The brass has an attractive bright appearance. There is some deep pitting on the hammer and trigger. The engraved German silver grips are also very fine. The engraving is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
