Manufactured circa 1859. This revolver incorporates British Patent No. 669 of 29 March 1858 and No. 1159 of 24 May 1858. It has a blued octagonal sighted barrel, blued border engraved top strap signed "DEANE & SON. LONDON BRIDGE", blued serial numbered cylinder, border engraved blued frame, bright hammer, trigger and rammer, blued combined cylinder stop and barrel locking catch, and checkered walnut butt. There are London proofmarks. Comes in the original fitted oak case lined in blue baize with accessories including a good Dixon revolver flask, a Dixon oil bottle, a Joyce percussion cap tin with marbled paper wrapper, and an Adams patent double cavity brass bullet mold. The case lid has a Deane & Son trade label on the interior and a circular brass escutcheon on the exterior.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall. The revolver retains 98% of original blue finish with some minor rubbing to the muzzle and other edges from handling and storage. The grip has some minor handling marks and otherwise crisp checkering. The case has some minor handling and storage marking. The printed trade label is very good. The accessories are also very good with an excellent flask. Minor age related rubbing to the case lining. Overall, a fine example of this classic British percussion revolver.
