Manufactured in 1929. Single bead sight on the matte concave rib marked "GRADE 4A KRUPP FLUID STEEL BARRELS" with 2 7/8 inch chambers, ejectors, and full/full chokes. The barrel flats and water table have standard pre-war proofs with a "6/29" proof date on the flats. The water table is marked "GERMANY" indicating it was manufactured for export outside of Germany. The receiver features exceptionally fine oak leaf and acorn engraving with semi-relief carved oak leaf and acorn designs on the fences. The side plates are engraved with highly detailed game scenes of a hunting dog and pheasants on the right, and a fox stalking ducks on the left. Matching engraving on the tangs with "F.W. HEYM SUHL" marked on the underside of the receiver. Dual triggers and tang mounted automatic safety. With a nicely figured finely checkered splinter forearm with horn tip insert, and pistol grip stock with a blank initial oval, and basket weave checkered horn buttplate. The barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .733/.733 inch; minimum wall thickness .025/.025 inch; drop at comb 1 5/8 inches; drop at heel 2 1/8 inches; length of pull 14 inches.

Exceptionally fine as partially refinished. 97% plus blue finish remains with a few light scratches and dings visible around the muzzles. The chambers have been lengthened. The receiver and side plates have an attractive uniform slate gray patina with traces of original muted case colors in the more protected areas with clear markings and sharp engraving. The wood is very fine as freshened with tight joints, crisp checkering, and a few small dings. Mechanically excellent.
