Manufactured from 1950 to 1966, with this example having the desirable factory bright blue finish. It has standard S&W factory markings (without the model marking), ramp blade front and square notch adjustable rear sights, serrated grip straps and trigger, Magna grips and checkered hammer spur. Matching serial numbers are found on the butt, cylinder, barrel and right grip panel. The assembly number "61655" is stamped on the yoke and crane. The original factory box is numbered to the gun. The included 19 October 1955 dated S&W invoice (photocopy) indicates that this revolver with a 6 1/2 inch barrel was shipped to the McGregor Hardware Co., Springfield, Missouri. Excellent plus. The revolver retains over 99% original bright blue finish showing a light cylinder drag line. 99% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are near new with sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine showing limited minor wear. A solid example of a S&W Pre-Model 24 target revolver with the desirable bright blue finish in ultra high near new condition.
