The included factory letter identities this pistol by its serial number as being an experimental prototype kept by the Colt factory. The letter also confirms the caliber, barrel length, bright and matte nickel finish and black checkered grips with gold plated Colt medallions. Standard slide markings. This pistol was stolen from Colt and recovered by the West Hartford Police Department (confirmed by the factory letter and the included police property tag and detached case label).

Excellent. The pistol retains 99% original nickel finish with some minor handling marks and some speckling on the back strap. The grips are also excellent with a few minor handling marks and some scattered minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering.
