The accompanying factory letter confirms this pistol's commemorative configuration and states that the pistol was personally selected by the then Vice President of Finance Gary W. French (later President of Colt Firearms Division) to be a factory sample and display gun. It was released from the factory in October 2008. The pistol retains the yellow warning tag. Comes with the Colt "woodgrain" box numbered to the gun, commemorative case and shipping box that has a label hand marked "Hold for/Gary French," indicating the pistol had been selected by the Colt executive.
