According to the included factory letter, this pistol was part of a two-piece shipment to L.J. Eppinger Incorporated of Detroit, Michigan on 16 December 1938, with the letter explicitly calling out the nickel finish, "Pearl" grips and the factory executed Class A engraving. Fixed sights, with the standard markings surrounded with fine scrollwork, textured backgrounds and light border line work overall, a light floral pattern on the underside of the frame ahead of the trigger guard and scroll accents on the grip safety. Finish is full nickel, with a matching finished magazine and a pair of smooth medallion grips. With a Colt marked leatherette case with a maroon velvet French-cut inner lining.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus, with 99% plus of the original nickel finish, showing some extremely minor handling marks. The grips are also in excellent plus condition. Mild scuffing is present on the case, with a partially disconnected hinge. Mechanically excellent.
