Manufactured in 1917. Fixed blade and notch sights, with the two-line, two-block patent dates and address on the left side of the slide ahead of the Rampant Colt, caliber markings on the reverse, and "VP/1" on the trigger guard. The barrel is bright and the hammer casehardened, with a pair of checkered grips with "COLT" banners and Rampant Colt imprints.

Very fine, with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing some polishing of the slide, bright edge wear, scattered handling marks and minor spotting overall. 60% of the original case colors are visible on the hammer. The grips are also very fine, with a few light dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
