Description:

The included factory letter confirms the serial number, barrel length, caliber, factory engraving (inscription), and May 13, 1939 date of shipment to Arms Selling Express in Jefferson City Missouri for Col. B.M. Casteel. At the time Casteel was the superintendent for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Lloyd C. Stark Governor of the state of Missouri from 1937 to 1941, was a 1908 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and served four years as a naval officer before entering the family business of Stark Brothers' Nursery as Vice President and General Manager. He also served as a Major in the U.S. Army during World War I serving in both the U.S. and France, including the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. The revolver has standard markings and features with a factory engraved inscription on the side plate reading "LLOYD C. STARK/GOVERNOR/of/MISSOURI/1939". With a custom hardwood display case with cartridge block.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 98% plus original blue finish remains with a light cylinder drag line, and some small handling marks. The grips are also excellent with sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Case is very good as custom made with some light dings and chipping on the exterior.
