Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with "S A/bomb/11-32" on the barrel behind the front sight. The receiver is fitted with a "NS" marked bolt. Smooth "C" pattern pistol grip stock with a circled "P" behind the trigger guard, "S/5" in the magazine switch cut, "RA-P" and "SA/SPG" cartouche on the left side, a brown leather sling and a checkered steel buttplate. This rifle (sans sling) can be seen on page 265 of Bruce Canfield's "U.S. Military Bolt Action Rifles", where it is used to showcase the differences between the inter-War 1903A1 and earlier 1903 production, particularly the Type C and Type S stocks. Provenance: Bruce Canfield collection.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 90% of the dark parkerized finish, showing some bright edge wear, light rubbing on the receiver and buttplate, and mild handling marks overall. The reoiled stock is fine, with a few light dents and scuffs, and the sling shows cracking and verdigris buildup. Mechanically excellent.
