Manufactured in November of 1940 and later arsenal upgraded to M1D Sniper configuration. Blade front and peep rear sights, with "DRC" and "S SI-" drums and a Springfield "S-A-7-51" barrel with integral scope base. Internal components include a Springfield bolt, trigger housing, hammer, safety and the relief-cut operating rod, and "C1 6D/D 28291-8 SA" on the receiver leg. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a circled "P" on the underside of the wrist, two Springfield "S.A." cartouches and a Raritan Arsenal "R.A." cartouche on the left side, a green canvas MRT sling and a checkered steel buttplate. The included scope is still in the original greased wrapping material, with an unsealed Ludlow "Marvelseal 360" metallic pouch, and appears to be an M84 based on overall profile. An unlaced "MRT" cheekpiece is also included, as is a hand-numbered matching shipping box and a hand-numbered unsealed rifle-sized vapor pouch with stenciled M1D nomenclature.

Very fine as arsenal upgraded to M1D specification, with 99% parkerized finish, showing some light scratches on the receiver heel, barrel and gas cylinder, along with some lighter handling marks overall. The stock is very fine, with some dents and scratches. Heavy verdigris buildup is present on the cheekpiece, and the lace is absent. The scope is near mint in the military wrap but has not been inspected, and the box is fine as retaped. Mechanically excellent.
