Manufactured by Remington for the United States Army in World War II. The sights are properly absent from the barrel and receiver, with "R A/bomb/1-44" on the barrel and the receiver bearing the properly offset "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" marking on the left side of the receiver ring. The bolt shows "R" markings on multiple parts, with a standard 03-A3 profile safety lever and an A4 pattern contoured bolt handle. The scope is a Weaver 330 M8 fitted to a Redfield base with a set of twist-off rings. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a circled "P" behind the trigger guard, and traces of a cartouche on the left side. With a green canvas web sling. With the "69" dated DOD bill of sale. Very fine as arsenal refurbished with 90% of the post-war parkerized finish remaining, some light edge wear, nicks and dings on the barrel bands, and cycling marks. The stock has been sanded and re-oiled with faint markings, and a few scattered dings. Mechanically excellent. The scope is fine with some areas thinning to a blue/gray patina with mostly clear optics.
