Description:

A closed-bolt blowback-operated sub-machine gun, the Reising Model 50 saw action with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific as a substitute for the M1 Thompson, though they found their best success as defensive weapons for war-essential industries and as patrol carbines for American police forces. This particular example appears to have made it overseas, and was brought back stateside by the Inter-American Import-Export Company of Sacramento, California, who registered it with the ATF as a "sales sample". Blade front and elevation adjustable peep rear sights, with a flash hider/muzzle break, cooling fins on the barrel, three-line New Haven address near the ejector port, and three-position selector/safety on the right side just ahead of the Inter-American markings. Smooth pistol grip stock with a cocking lever on the underside, sling swivels and a lightly ribbed buttplate. A number of small replacement springs are also included.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 85% plus arsenal parkerized finish, showing a few hints of brown patina, scattered handling marks and bright edge wear. The stock is fair, with some large chips absent from the barrel channel, small cracks, scuffs and scattered dents. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a restricted, National Firearms Act (NFA) Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon, that is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478. This weapon is currently registered as being "LIMITED TO USE AS A SALES SAMPLE (Pre-86)" and as such can only be purchased by an FFL, with a Class 2 or Class 3 SOT License.
