Manufactured in Geneseo, Illinois by Springfield Armory, this is one of only approximately 125 factory-made select fire SA M1A rifles; not an aftermarket conversion, or a reweld of a scrapped U.S.G.I. M14, but a factory fresh machine gun. "NM 072" front sight and a National Match rear sight with swiveling fine adjustment eyepiece and a "WC E" elevation knob, "TRW" bolt and trigger group, "HR-N" hammer, "SA" operating rod and a 308 caliber Geneseo-marked barrel. The automatic sear hardware is patterned directly after the M14, with the same spring loaded "A" marked selector switch and appropriate cuts in the receiver and stock. Fitted with a smooth straight grip stock, with a green canvas sling and a flip-up buttplate. Included with the lot is a grouping of vintage aluminum 5-round clips.

Excellent, with 97% plus original matte gray finish, showing some mild handling marks and a bit of cycling wear in the operating rod channel. The stock is also excellent, with scattered dents. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
