This is a 1943 dated WWII British Enfield No. 4 MK 1(T) sniper rifle with an early No. 32 MKI scope and mount. These rifles were used through out WWII and into the early 1960s. The receiver is marked "No. 4 Mk. I/T", and the socket is marked "M47C/1943/AV2293/ENGLAND/TR". It has its matching No. 32 MKI sniper scope marked "TEL. SIG/No.32 Mk.I/H.B.M. Co./O.S. 466/REGd No.5257/broad arrow proof". The scope has the standard British post and crosshair reticle pattern and retains the original sliding brass sun shade on the rear. The mount has a "N92" maker's mark with the original rifle number milled out and has been restamped with "AV2293". The top and bottom half of the scope rings are stamped "F31/F32" respectively. It has its correct matching numbered bolt. It is fitted with a replacement buttstock that lacks the standard "S51" maker's mark on the underside, with the top flat of the wrist area having been restamped "5257" over an old, very faint previous number. The forestock has also been restamped with the matching serial number "AV2293". The top of the comb on the buttstock is fitted with an original cheekpiece held on with two wooden screws. It comes with one 10 round box magazine that has been numbered to match the rifle. There were approximately 26,000 of these rifles manufactured during WW II, with most seeing heavy use during the war, and the balance were given to other countries in the United Kingdom after the war. Only a couple hundred were ever imported in the 1960s by Interarms.

Fine with 95% of an arsenal type refurbished finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear. The scope and mount are very fine also having been rebuilt/overhauled as it has a combination arsenal blue/black type finish on the scope tube with a heavy black finish on the scope mount. The optics are clear. The buttstock and handguards are all in in excellent condition with a nice medium brown oil finish overall having been replaced and refitted during the rebuilding and overhaul process.
