The top of the receiver ring is marked "bcd", the wartime code for the Gustloff-Werke factory, over "4", with the right side marked with an illegible eagle proof. The receiver wall is marked "Mod. 98". The receiver and bolt handle are stamped with commercial "eagle/N" proofs and the barrel is stamped "42" followed by three "eagle/WaA63" acceptance marks on the right side. The trigger guard and floor plate had the military numbers lined out and the matching commercial number "1366" or "66" stamped above. Writer believes this to be the factory's use of left over or rejected military parts on the commercial production. Hooded inverted "V" front sight and tangent rear sight. Smooth laminated stock with the serial number stamped on the underside.

Excellent. 95% original polished blue finish remains with some scattered dings and scratches, handling marks overall, and areas of brown patina on the bands. The stock is excellent. With some light dings, and spotting on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
