Description:

Manufactured from 1915 to 1917, the 2nd Model 455 Hand Ejector was made primarily for the British and Canadian military, being a Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector chambered for the U.K. military standard 455 cartridge. In addition to the standard Smith & Wesson markings, this 5-screw revolver has the British inspector mark "crown/30" on the butt and a British "double arrow" (first arrow stamped as a military acceptance mark, the second to indicate deaccession from military stores are release to commercial market) on the left side of the frame. Blade front and notch rear sights, with proper matching numbers on the barrel, cylinder (uncut), and butt, as well as the matching assembly numbers on the frame and crane. The grips are checkered walnut, with gold colored S&W medallions at the tops.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 90% of the original blue finish, showing some light spotting and handling marks overall, along with a few light scratches. Bright colors are present on the hammer and on the protected areas of the trigger, and the grips are very good, with a few light dings and spots of verdigris. Mechanically excellent.
