The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 5 inch barrel, ramp front sight, blue finish and checkered grips when it was shipped on October 18, 1954, to Amarillo Hardware Co., Amarillo, Texas. It has standard S&W markings, matching serial numbers on the butt, ejector shroud and cylinder, and matching assembly number on the crane and yoke. The grips are un-numbered.

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% original blue finish showing some loss at the muzzle, some minor handling marks and a cylinder drag line. There is some cold blue touch-up on the underside of the frame. Most of the original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are fine showing some chipping near the trigger guard, some scattered minor handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
