The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 4 inch barrel, ramp front sight, blue finish and checkered walnut grips when it was shipped on March 26, 1954, to Momsen, Dunnegan, Ryan Co. of El Paso, TX. It has standard S&W markings, matching serial numbers on the butt, barrel, cylinder and right grip panel and matching assembly numbers on the yoke and crane. The factory K-38 gold box is un-numbered and has an end label listing a 4 inch barrel.

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus original blue finish showing some minor high edge wear and a cylinder drag line. There are a couple light dings on the barrel. Most of the original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are fine with a hairline crack near the top (right panel), some scattered minor handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with typical staining, an area of glue-like substance on the lid, wear overall and a repaired tear.

It has standard S&W markings, Call silver bead front sight, matching serial numbers on the butt, barrel, cylinder and right grip panel and matching assembly numbers on the yoke and crane.

Very fine. The revolver retains 90% plus original blue finish showing some thinning to a brown, some holster type wear on the barrel and a cylinder drag line. There is some evidence of cleaning mixed with light pitting on the right side plate. The hammer and trigger retain much of the original case colors. The grips are also very fine with some minor dings and scratches (mostly on the bottoms) and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
