Confirmed by the included Colt factory letter this pistol was an experimental prototype pistol kept by the Colt factory. Letter also confirms caliber, barrel length, finish, and grips. Left side of slide has the two-line model marking next to the Rampant Colt and right side of slide has the two-line caliber marking with three-line Hartford address/"PATS. PEND." marking. Missing the magazine. Has fixed white dotted sights.

Excellent. The pistol retains 99% original blue finish with only the slightest handling marks on the slide and composite frame. The grips are near new with only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
