Produced in the "J-Frame" style, known in production as the Mark III. Blade front sight, with a cut in the top strap for an adjustable rear sight, which is absent. No markings are present except for the serial number on the butt and "7" on the crane. Grips are checkered walnut with Rampant Colt medallions. With a Colt factory letter, which confirms the features and the prototype status of the revolver. We also have another prototype Colt in this auction in the previous lot identified as a MKIII with a very close serial number of X7400-5, whereas this example is serial number X7400-7.

Excellent, with 95% of the original blue finish, showing the start of a gray patina on the front strap and some light handling marks and spotting overall. Grips are very fine, with light pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
