Manufactured in 1911 and subsequently embellished by renowned Master Engraver Alvin White, who has signed his work with his gold cartouche on the left side of the grip frame under the grip. The high quality, near full coverage engraving consists of floral scrollwork on a matte background incorporating large engraved floral blossoms on the front sides of the frame above the cylinder pin release. Double gold inlaid bands are featured on the barrel at the muzzle and breech and cylinder at the rear. The screws and trigger are plated in gold. Both pearl grip panels have a relief carved buffalo. The barrel has the one-line Hartford address on top and "45 COLT" on the left side. The left side of the frame has the two-line patent dates marking followed by a circled Rampant Colt. Matching serial numbers are found on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The accompanying Colt factory letter lists this revolver with a 5 1/2 inch barrel in .45 LC, blue finish and wood stocks when it was shipped to Abercrombie & Fitch Co. of New York City on June 26, 1911. Comes in a leather bound case lined in purple velvet and featuring a cartridge block hold 18 rounds.

Extremely fine as Master embellished by Master Engraver Alvin White. The revolver retains 99% plus of the blue, gold and casehardened finishes showing the slightest handling marks. The grips are very fine and have a crisp raised relief carving and highly attractive color. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent showing some high spot wear on the lining.
