Manufactured in 1914 and subsequently embellished by Firearms of Engravers Guild of America member Master Engraver Aaron "Duke" Pursley. The guild recognizes Pursley as one of only 45 master engravers in the country. Pursley signed his work "A. PURSLEY" on the underside of the trigger guard. The revolver features beautiful floral scroll engraving on a punch dot background covering most of the surfaces. The barrel has the one-line Hartford address inside an engraved panel on top and "45 COLT" stamped on the left side, the left side of the frame is marked with the two-line patent dates followed by a circled Rampant Colt, and the back of the cylinder has Rampant Colt. The grip has a scroll engraved inlay at the top. The revolver is gold plated while the small parts have a nitre blue finish. Matching numbers are found on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Comes with a modern oak case.
