Originally manufactured 1881, this SAA was subsequently custom embellished many years later. The revolver is engraved throughout with beautiful floral scrollwork on a punch dot background, patterned after 19th century motifs. This engraving incorporates zig-zag line and dots on the ejector rod housing, entwining lines on both grip straps and varying star-like bursts on the cylinder. The left side of the barrel has the etched panel "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER," which was officially replaced by the Colt factory in the early 120,000 serial number range with the much easier to produce and larger roll-stamping. The top of the barrel is stamped with the one-line Hartford address. The left side of the frame has the three-line patent dates marking, and the left side of the trigger guard is stamped "44 CF."

Extremely fine as custom embellished by an accomplished engraver. The revolver retains 99% plus of the nickel plating and showing the slightest handling marks overall. Mechanically functions fine but trigger is broke and sets forward.
